Kroger: Reducing Setup Time and Costs Through Value-Engineered Gift Card Displays

Challenge

Kroger needed a budget friendly gift card display that caught the eye and met their set up requirement of 5 minutes or less.

Solution

It was up to us to simplify and value engineer these displays to meet their 5-minute set up objective. Previous displays had wooden bottoms which required tools (and time) to attach caster wheels. The wooden bottoms drove up their costs and environmental impact. Our experts took their existing quarter pallet display and value engineered it. 

Thefinished display included the following features:

• Variable printing that localized displays for each Kroger banner. 
• Caster wheels that could snap onto a corrugated base. 
• Customized retention wrap that kept the gift cards in place during transit. 

Results

The value engineered display helped Kroger save thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in set up time. The custom retention wrap kept the gift cards secure during shipping, making the set-up a breeze.

Kroger was so happy with the success of the quarter palettes that we are now working on half and full palette designs for their upcoming promotions.
